Uncle Ricky, McMurdo and myself met (the soon-to-be-non-trousered) Twinkletowz and his lovely wife and LK-13 in a quaint little pub* in St. Catherines last night. Improv1 couldn't make it due to "family obligations" I really think he is just avoiding returning my lucky kilt pin, needn't have worried, because my Xmarks pin did catch one young ladies eye! The display of which I hope doesn't get Twinkletowz forbidden to wear a kilt in public before his even comes! It was most enjoyable meeting Xmarks and SOKS' new kilted rabble. It was unfortunate that as the night went on the music got louder the room got darker so conversation became much more difficult. Wish I were 20 again and kilted in that bar... Sorry folks no pics I do need to get a new camera.
*Until 11:00 and the university crowd showed up.

of course I was Babbling on and on for most of the night,
i spend so much time with my dog Marbles that it's nice to be able to talk with humans for awhile.
in hind sight, maybe i should have suggested Patrick Sheehan's on St.Paul Street.
it's a much quieter pub, even though it's an Irish pub lol. (never seen a quiet Irish pub before :P )
oh well plenty of nights left in the year!
i'm making every effort to be Kilted by mid April.
only problem is that each Kilt maker seems to be presenting different issues
that is making ordering a difficult choice.
one only ships FedEx, another wont accept Canada Post Money Orders, yet another may be out of my budget.
nothing is ever easy!

You could always make your own do a search for xkilt, you will find directions and voila you too can be kilted.
It was a good night, I had college age girls hooting at me,
later I accidentally threw my used kleenex into some guys bag, (it was right beside the garbage can in the mens room) most times this would be a problem, however last night the guy says "Thats alright sir, nice kilt!"

well with the bum left hand, making my own kilt is not really an option.

Then I suggest you go with Stillwater kilts. $40 US for the economy $80 for the standard. Shipping is super fast just measure around you waist and order that size (or slightly smaller may be better). From what I saw last night you'll have no problems with the buckles. Do it to experience "the power of the kilt" you and Twinkletowz witnessed some of it last night.

LOL My wife just witnessed the power of the kilt, at the duty free coming back from our long weekend in NY state. It opens conversation with the lovliest of strangers.
Go for the "standard" if you're going SWK, but CCGA's SWK wool black shadow is a lovely kilt, too.

Well, I almost made it to this one. I made it through Canadian Customs, got through the fog to St. Cat's, got to Church Street, and ... missed the turn onto King and then James. After half an hour of driving around in circles, ovals, and a couple of ellipsoids, I headed back to the U.S. - where I got to have fun with my co-workers.

During my night-time tour of St Cat's I drove past there, so I should be able to find it intentionally in the future.

I know how you feel Wompet, I got lost following simple instructions when leaving. I get confused on the other side of the lake., north is no longer away from water!
I sensed another kiltie at some point during the night, my hackles were up for fear of the kilted competition of the 20-something lasses.
Scottish Rites coming up on Thursday. I know Hamilton is not as confusing as St Catherines.

You would have had some competition, too.
Crossing the bridge, I got chatted up by the cute 20-something Canadian Customs girl, and she couldn't even see the kilt! If she had, I would've had some company. I might have still not made it to the Honest Lawyer's (though she knew where it is), but I would have had company.
