It is at Traquair house in the Scottish borders and well worth a visit. They even brew their own beer there!

Here are some of mine. The first two are from the Craig family under the Gordon clan.

The first is the J'ai Bonne Esperance (I Have Good Hope in French).

The second is the Vive Deo Et Vives (Live in God and You Shall Live in Latin).

The third is the XMarks pin (Droped it the first day it came in the mail and I still haven't fixed it...Doh!)

The last is a design by Craigmount with Connemara Marble inlay from Western Ireland.

More to come but took this today of my bagpipes pin which I wear with my Brithwe Dewi Sant cilt.

It's my most expensive pin and I am pleased to report that the one of the pinlocks I have just received works very well with it!

A repro of an antebellum Georgia militia hat badge c. 1840. These originally had an eagle with wings spread on top of the arch, but they were broken and filed off in 1861. Shown on the Georgia tartan.

I realize the pic is kind of blurry and it's not nearly as nice as some of the pins posted. This is the first and only pin I have (so far), my Sister bought this for me a couple of Christmas's ago. So sentimentally, it's my favorite.

    Wow,

A really nice collection so far, there are some really unique and wonderful pieces here from traditonal celtic design like Beuth Sim's lovely Claddagh to ScotInNewHampshire's exotic collection (Love the snake one I have a brass one from the F-H.C.A.G. )

    Keep them coming folks

    Cheers

    Trefor,

I have not heard of the pinlock, and I have not seen them advertised. From whence cometh thine, pray?

    Hamish:

Yea verily I didst put the details on the on the thread about stopping losing ye kilte pins but mayhap I shouldst have put them here also.

I did the suggested search on ebay for Disney pin locks and found them offered by ebay seller mmmjcoz (Jim Costello of San Diego) who also has a website at www.pinseller.com .

I bought 60 (5 packs of 12) for $25.90 which came to £13.77 in real money

The lock is put over the pin at the rear of the apron before it goes through to the front again to the clasp and locked down with a small allen key (2 are supplied with each pack of 12). So should the front clasp come undone and the pin ride up it won't be lost because the lock won't go through the small hole that the pin would because it's too wide to do so. It can of course be unlocked again should the kilt pin need to be taken out.

I think it's a very simple, cheap and cost effective solution considering the cost of replacing even one pin and even more so for those of us who have a pin for each kilt!

Jim's communication is first class and friendly and he was intrigued to learn that the pins could be used for kilt pins as well as Disney pins, biker pins etc.
