I'm a retired Instrument Tech. When working, I worked in a large chemical plant (fibers). My main job was maintaining and calibrating the pollution control analyzers which monitored the waste water streams exiting the plant. I also worked on all other types of measuring and control instrumentation, including pneumatic control valves.

I'm a civil servant working for the County of San Diego. Specifically, I work with the people who issue building permits to streamline the process (an uphill battle, but I'm winning) often by leveraging technological solutions. Basically, I'm paid to think critically about how to improve very complex business processes, a job I love.

As requested, below is an exciting picture of me at work, our superb high-end fluorescent lighting glinting fetchingly off my hairless coconut.

That's my Morrison modern 5-yard, by the way. Same kilt I wore today to the St. Patrick's day parade here in the Banker's Hill/Hillcrest area of San Diego (and my `hood), by far the largest such parade west of the Mississippi.

IT geek here. Keep getting into the management of people, but I basically just like to play with the technology. Currently focused on Business Intelligence, Reporting, and Analytics. I would go back to being a coder full-time, but management does pay better!
