I too must admit a weakness for traumatizing people who display bad manners and poor judgement.
Most of the time common sense wins out and I remain genteel. There are occasions when project induced turrets syndrome or assoholic codependency manifests so aggressively that decorum is out the window.
Since I am not ever going to be mistaken for Sir Sean's stunt double, I only occasionally get asked by women. Men are even more scarce.
The women who have asked are generally flirtatious. Men are scared. The few rude folks have all walked away unharmed save one or two.
But we are all human. Anybody can be less than gracious under particular circumstances. I have to agree with those who promote a gentle approach as good kiltsmanship.
Humans are stereotypical creatures. Prejudice is a tool that helps us make decisions every day. We don't want to prejudice the general public against kilt wearing. Hearts and Minds are at stake.
Just my .02 USD.
