Not many wooden floors in France; mostly synthetic.
Of course, you have to work up to barefootedness; after a few weeks, you'll find your skin is as thick as ghillie soles!

Well, I've pretty much set myself on it.
I have pretty thick soles on my feet from hiking barefoot anyway, but I am not sure I could handle dancing barefoot.
I know a few folk who do it when they are practicing and they have great footwork!
I am going to go ahead and invest in the James Senior ghillies in my size.
I'll get them with the shock absorbing insoles and wear them around the house to get them comfy before I start wearing them to practices.
I figure I will be totally used to them by the time a ball comes up.
Now I just have to decide between:
The Fochaber style:
And: The Cameron Style:
