640 X 480 works out the best for nearly every forum site I've ever visited. If you venture too far beyond that, it tends to break the forum's style. Take a look at the posts on this site where someone has posted a 1280 X 960 image and you'll immediately see what I mean.

For Windows users, there is a great little FREE tool you can use to resize your photo's.
Follow this link and scroll about halfway down the page, on the right hand sidebar and look for "image resizer".
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx
This link should take you to the download directly http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...ertoySetup.exe
Once Image Resizer is installed on your system it will add a new command to your right click menu. When you have an image file (or multiple image files) selected and you right click, it will show an option to 'resize image'. Click it, then follow the directions. It gives you the option of several different sizes (smallest works best for forums, it's what all mine are in) and you can also do custom sizes.
Normally it makes a copy of the original in a smaller size, or you can select to have it resize the originals.
The batch resize ability is what makes it really useful for me, as I can download an entire camera's worth of images then resize them all at once for posting.

All the other web-sites that look like this one have them, why not this one...I can't figure out how to do the link thing either...This is totally unfair.

Chase, go back to this first page and see Yaish's explanation.
This my version as a dummy;
1. log in to Photo Bucket account, upload your pics-if they aren't aready in there.
2.Under each pic is (ideally) three boxes-if there's only one, click "changing option' and three will appear.
3.Right click the bottom box under the pic (starts with IMG) that will 'copy' the pic. (whatever THAT means, doesn't matter). DON"T LOG OUT OF PHOTOBUCKET!
4.Now log on to Xmarks ; do your Quick Reply, words of wisdom etc.
5.Right cick, and a little menu appears, choose 'paste' and a Martian code/link whatever will appear under your reply text..
6. Then just hit the usual 'Reply' button and Magic! the post will appea,r and your pic where the Martian code was!
Be patient with yourself, you'll get it, I promise. I finally managed (but of course I'm brilliant at the best of times - and VERY HUMBLE with it!!!)

And for the next lesson Ozman will tell us how to post clickable pictures!

Actually I was gloating but then decided that I was just being mean so I researched how to take screen shots andin five minutes (thanks wiki) I learned how to do it so here is a tutorial for clickable thumbs in Photobucket. We will now time Ozman1944 to see how long it take him to learn this new tool. My money is on less than 10 minutes. So here goes (and all pics are clickable):
Step one select which pic you want clickable and check the small box below the pic;

Next go to bottom of the page and click on the button titled "Generate HTML and IMG code".

Page will automatically open. The box you are interested in is the third one down entitled "IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended"

Highlight text and copy then paste on your post. Then Bob's your uncle.

Go for it Stan.

Looks like I'm out of luck on the photobucket...I am sharing a narrow band width with 120 operators and I'm being denied download access by Nomadix (our company's server).
Man this blows!!!
