I usually only carry my iphone, wallet and keys. Here's the exception

I keep my nylon Cargo sporran kit for my day hikes in Arizona. I'd say that my kit works for urban even though it is designed for my desert setting with the possibility of fifty degree (27C) temperature swings. Poisonous reptiles, and everything has thorns.

Everything is loaded in this pic and there's still plenty of room.

    topo map/flight nav ruler/compass
    waterproof notebook and pencil
    space blanket
    bandana

    snake bite kit (yellow tube)
    one band-aid
    coagulant powder
    scalpel blade
    antihistamine
    anti-inflamatory
    needle/thread
    moleskin
    safety pins

    Coast Guard whistle
bottle opener and P 38 (was gold plated as a joke once)
    Leatherman micra
    Swiss-Tech plier/screw driver
    Gerber locking folder
(I always cary a useable sgian dubh)
    Tiny LED ring light
    lip balm
    matches
    money
five dice in an altoids tin
Copies of all ID and other information on a data stick
    15' 4.5mm accessory cord.

No bug spray because it's winter. I always have sunscreen and water in my hydration pack

I've been gardening in my Buzz Kidder canvas kilt lately. I have exchanged a sporran for a tool apron. I also work with ceramics and use the same kilt and aprons there. I have a full apron and a waist apron with multiple pockets: both canvas.

Here is a link to the thread where I have been documenting it.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I have to tell you, a sporran can and should hold only so much. Packing everything into one bag can result in an overstretched, way too heavy bag bouncing up and down right on your...uh..."frontal region".

Better you should just get a belt pouch to take up some of the weight...they don't look that bad...in fact I doubt that anyone even notices one when the leather colors match.
