I cannot find anything that excludes folk living abroad - just go to the site, register and then buy the membership(s) from the shop.

WOW some guid piccies there Roberston despite capturing me pulling a face!
I didn't have to buy a ticket because I am a member of Friends of Historic Scotland - just showed my card and got a ticket. It gives you free access to all sites where there is a charge (£5 at Caerlaverock, £11 at Edinburgh Castle for example) plus 20% discount in their shops and 10% in cafes run by them (alas they don't run the cafe at Caerlaverock) so it doesn't take long to get your money back!
One year individual membership is £37 and it gives you half price admission to English Heritage, Cadw (Wales) and Manx Heritage sites. From year two onwards you get them free as well! Plus you get a regular membership magazine.

Well worth considering even for a holiday tour of Scotland!

Great pictures, especially like the one of Mark piping on the lawn in front of the castle. Looks like you all had a great outing. I've got to get over there!
