I'm not sure I understand this. I thought that copyright meant that you couldn't reproduce something for your own profit (paraphrasing, I know). I also thought that pasting the photo here with the link back to the owners website is not a violation of copyright.

The fact that they are selling yardage and custom order kilts means that their product will be out of their hands (eventually) and can be photographed and posted anywhere.

From where I sit, I can make the extrapolation that a haute couture designer could say that you couldn't take photos of the person wearing their creation as it infringes on their copyright.

Anyway, if I've got this wrong, please explain where I went astray. I don't wish to violate copyrights. Thanks.

You know, Dixiecat... He might be talking about a file that belongs to the STA and that is the only place that tartan exists. Someone did link to it back there.
I'm thankful that Ron made us aware of it, though. Thanks Riverkilt.
