Possibly the World's ugliest Tartan

It gives me the impression they were going for the "weathered" or "ancient" look. Looking at it through that lens, it doesn't look bad to me. I admit that I prefer less busy tartans, and more muted colors, but that isn't---to my eyes---ostentatiously ugly.

On Grant, in a thong, however . . . .

Now who in their right mind would wear a wool thong. (Unless you are into scratchy)

Colour has nothing to do with it, itchy itch itch.

You could get arrested with all that itching.

So, mohair comes from Angora goats. Angora Wool can be either of two things: Mohair, or the hair from Angora rabbits. Neither of these fiber types would make a good kilting fabric. The fiber from the rabbit tends to be fuzzy and fly-away like and the mohair is straight and slippery. Mohair does have a nice sheen - kind of like the sheen you get if you iron a non-wool kilt without a press cloth.

You are absolutely correct that sentence should have read,

"They use Wool blended with Angora Mohair from their farm in the middle of Vancouver Island."

Correct, Jamie; Loud Mc Leod isn't really LOUD It's just kinda colorful? cheery? er yellow? really very, very,very yellow; like a banana & a stick of liquorice emerging from a blender......
