    Friday,

    Good thought...

This is what I wore when my wife and daughter took me out for my 63rd birthday...

The sporran, shoes, hose, flashes, sgian dubh and shirt are all handmade. (the sporran looks like it has a metal cantle in this photo but that's just camera flash--it's really a black leather cantle.

The tie is a 100% silk tie by Christian Dior..one of three pure silk ties I picked up at the local SA for $1.50 ea.

The rest of the kit was accumulated over the course of a year--mostly Christmas and birthday presents

The inspiration for me attempting the conversion on my Harris tweed (and BTW, they aren't making these anymore...or so I've been told) came from your wife and the elan with which you wear yours.

Rob and Ted, you mischievous pair, I think a panama is just the ticket to be worn with the kilt in your hot climes.

Well then, Jock... I will put on my old straw hat in one of the pictures, and post it in it's own thread. Perhaps we can seddle this hat issue once and for all.

And just for fun, I will get a picture with my big canvas Westarn hat too.

I do not feel that I should spend as much time over in the formal attire threads as I have been while asking questions. A polo shirt and kakhi pants are what I normally wear when out and about, and I won't go into the work clothes I wear around here on the minature farm...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
