Nice badger sporran, Jamie! Your picture underscores how versatile these full-face sporrans are, going equally well with day and evening wear. I have one made by my "mountain man" buddy that I tend to only wear in the evening or semi-formally. Seeing your picture makes me think I need to change my mindset. He saw me once during the day wearing a simple leather sporran at a dress-up gathering and asked me if I didn't like the badger! Had to back-peddle a little there, as it's honestly my favorite of the three sporrans I own.

    HSP,

Thank you (though Rocky is a raccoon).

My friend way2fractious made this for me as a gift and I treasure it as I do his friendship (even if he is a Kilted Curmudgeon )

Though full mask sporrans can be worn pretty much with any level of formality, I personally like them best when paired with a tweed jacket and smart day wear.

    Cheers

Ha, ha! Yes, I see he definitely is a raccoon! That's what I get for posting when I'm not fully awake yet . . .

A wonderful Father's Day gift, Jamie. Sorry I have only just found this thread - it's one of thousands I have obviously missed during the Summer months! A very fine choice by Star and the children.

The waist plate is identical to one I have on a mid-brown pigskin belt which I bought, with a matching pigskin sporran, from Geoffrey (Tailor) in Edinburgh, about twelve years ago.

I used to wear it a lot, like you, as a smart day-wear accessory. Sadly the sporran, whilst looking very nice, holds little more than a handkerchief (!), and so it fell into disuse as other sporrans came into the Accessories Kollection. Since the belt did not then match any sporran I owned, it too has remained far from the light of day in the Accessories Vault. When, and if, the credit crunch moves on I really should look for a capacious pigskin sporran to replace the original.

    Take care,
    Ham.

Received my belt and buckle today and I really like it! Do to a little mix-up, which Jerry quickly corrected, I was able to compare the antique brass buckle to the regular brass buckle on the plain brown belt. I much prefer the antique buckle which comes with the embossed belt. The duller finish looks much better with daywear.

My youngest daughter suggested getting the buckle monogrammed, which I think I just might do.
