Kudos to ColMac and all participants. Spc Boyd deserves our thanks and so do you.
"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus. Hard on the piper; hard on them all; hard on the world." Butcher's Broom, by Neil Gunn, 1994 Walker & Co, NY, p. 397-8.

ColMac, thanks for getting the ball rolling on this and to all the X-Markers who particpated.
It's really wonderful to see this event come to fruition... and especially good to see a great young man get some well-deserved attention and support!

Hey Merlin,
Did you ever get that video edited?
Thanks,

What a great evening, and well-deserved thing to do for SPC Boyd!

I am curious as to what effect it has had on him a month down the road. Anyone hear anything about it or hear of him wearing it, or do you think it is in a box of memories of his experience to make sure his descendants know of what he did?
I'd have boxed it up, and gotten a new one, so I could remember the gesture, and not worry about something happening to it, while still honoring said gesture. It is as much a victory I think to see him in a UK as it would be the one he was given.
