Gang, this is my long time Brother and Friend - the first guy at Syracuse U. to welcome me to civilian life when I got out to pursue an education and commission. He is truly a topnotch soldier and friend.
Hey Hey...Chrissy Baseplate!! How's life going? He's telling the truth everyone...but please don't hold the fact that I'm friends with him against me!! Knowing him, he probably has more enemies than friends here!! Just kidding of course. Chris is one of my oldest and best friends! Helluva guy!

Another Brand New Kilt Owner
Hello, longhuntr and your buddies.
I've just recently received my first kilt (a VERY inexpensive Sport Kilt!) which I bought after seeing so many local guys wearing kilts at a nearby Mideaval Faire (it was Celtic weekend).
I have to admit that I've always sort of wanted a kilt, ever since I watched the film "Tunes Of Glory" while stationed in England a LONG time before you guys were even born. I bought from Sport Kilt because they were the only folks I found that could furnish the Air Force tartan (and price DID enter into it!). I can't wait to wear it on cruises, Irish holidays, and, of course, to next year's Mideaval Faire.
I just found this site, and hope to get some more education on kilts here...I'm sure I can learn a lot, which will be helpful in finding out how and where to buy my next kilt(s).
As an old combat vet, I know it's silly to tell you guys to stay safe, because in your occupation, you can't stay safe and still do your job. So I'll just implore you to be as careful as you can. It's guys like you that bring honor to our country, and never forget it!
Respects from a retired former Phantom Phlyer (370 missions over VN, only shot down once! )
And if any other kilt-wearers have advice, recommendations, etc, re: sources for reasonably-priced*-but-still-acceptable kilts, I'd sure welcome it! I'd especially like to know the thoughts on Sport Kilt, USA Kilts, and Stillwater Kilts... Thanks in advance!
