I'm so glad I'm not the only one who noticed this! There's someone else in a kilt to Mr. Sutherland's right, so I imagine it was part of a "thing," which makes it even odder that Mr. Butler chose not to wear a kilt!

As I recall, that pic is from a set taken while Kiefer was attending his step-daughter's wedding in Edinburgh.
