This is a highly religious-political thread from the outset.
The visit itself is already controversial, so how can comments not be controversial?

    Martin
Downunder Kilt has expressed it well.

Comments are not controversial when they are pertinent to Matt's achievement regarding designing the tartan. This is NOT a forum for debating the pros and cons of the occasion that brought it about.

Members are responsible for what they write and if they wish to express opinions that are not in keeping with the rules of X Marks, to which we are ALL subject, they should take them elsewhere or keep it to themselves.

Let's not "feed the Trolls" folks.

Stephen Hawking in 1998 wrote a book stating there was a God and made a lot of money
He then writes another book 2010 stating there is no God hoping to make some more cash
being a professor he should find out which side of the fence he on before writing books

As notice is not being taken of the warnings and the thread is degenerating rapidly and producing complaints this thread is being closed pending Moderator review.

    My Congratulations

As a proud Scot - who also happens to be a Protestant, may I first of all congratulate Matthew Newsome on a magnificent piece of work.
May I also add my hope that all my fellow Scots who are Catholic, enjoy the visit of their Pontiff.
