It is a beautiful blade, regardless of how it is worn!

A Cold Steel Culloden from about 1998 or so. I took the Kraton handle off and made my own out of mahogany and maple.

My Canadian West Coast sgian dubh I made from 316 Stainless Steel and Argalite, a hard shale rock found only in (Queen Charlot Islands)now known as it,s Native name of Haida Gwaii. I used a high speed Dremel to do the carving and to shape and polish the steel.

Third attempt before I got it as to were I liked it.

Already saw that on another thread. But it is just as freakin' awesome a piece of work now as it was then.

It is not very heavy. The blade is a little heavier than the stone/shale so it is well balanced. I was going to place a wooden back on the handle but that would throw the balance off and I needed it to hold well on my leg and also to be comfortable when I wear it. I have chosen to use an thine layer of epoxy on the back to cut down on the weight and to keep it flat and simple. I am not sure but I may carve some simplified Celtic design into the back.
I left that project for a few days and now have started on my first Targe. I have most of the brass cut and ready to stretch the black leather on the wood frame.
I will post a picture as I go along....unless I make a bollocks of it.
