Because I like the comfort and my wife will not come out with me if I am not wearing a kilt

Hmmm... I don't have a swimming pool in my backyard, but if I did, I might think twice about who I would have over for a swim! <grin>

My standard (and honest) answer:
I'm Celtic, confident .... and comfortable. [insert wide smile here]

Like others here I wear the kilt to celebrate my heritage. I also wear the kilt for the following reasons.
1. It's amazing comfort.
2. It's style and versatility as one can dress formally or casually in the same kilt.
3. My wife's reaction and the melody in her voice when I wear one.
4. The vexation it causes the intolerant and the way it cheers the day of those who appreciate the kilt well worn.
5. Because I it's Teusday or Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday , Sunday or Monday and I'm celarbrating the day and life!
Here's to the Kilt and the magic of it!

Just a quick comment...
I don't get back there very often. Edinboro is in the SNOW BELT and gets more than Erie since it is further away from the lake and at a bit higher elevation. Been there and endured all the snow.
Now back to why I wear the kilt...
'Cause it is so handy to wear to the campground restroom/showers and back to the RV. After a shower, with a kilt, no putting feet/legs into p@ntleg$, just wrap the one of my USA Casual kilts and it is secured with the velcro.

Since I was a small boy, I loved Scotland and anything to do with the Scots.
Years ago, I asked the question, "Why can't men wear a skirted garmet?"
I have found my answer, "Because men CAN wear a skirted garmet!"
Because a kilt is warm in winter and cool in summer.
Because I don't wear what everyone else wears from Walmart.
Because I am Celtic, German and Native American.
...and because I choose to. It's called FREEDOM! ("Braveheart")

I have worn a kilt for formal occasions my whole life. My Scottish parents dressed me in one for church when I was a small boy and I wore one at my one (and only) wedding 30 years ago. Until recently I thought of it as only "formal wear". However, last winter I had a significant health scare. (No worries everything is alright now). I took to wearing my kilt almost every day and in fact ordered a couple of new ones. Somehow through the adversity it made me feel stronger. A couple of my Mohawk friends understood right away. They said it was a way to summon the help of my ancestors in a challenging time.
I am not generally a spiritual person however I know when I wear a kilt I feel stronger and more confident. I don't really believe it helped in my recovery in any kind of measurable way, but I know it did not hurt.
