So I will be travelling to the airport on Hallowe'en 31st October and will be wearing one of my best 8-yard kilts to meet and greet my guest.

Hope all goes well, and you have a nice visit.

Re: Plans for Halloween or Other Celebrations of the Season?

Interesting to read of Sevenoaks’s recollections of being given a small warm bun.
That would seem to be the “soul cake” I have read about that was a tradition of All Souls Day – actually 2 November. But it seems that traditions can jump days . . .
    Regards,

Re: Plans for Halloween or Other Celebrations of the Season?

There is a better Halloween tradition discussion thread on the forum right now: "Your Halloween/Samhain traditions," by Gael Ridire.
    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...ditions-69660/

There are links to document sources describing Halloween and related traditions, and members are describing their traditions.

I suppose it depends on the kilt, but I personally will be handing out candy dressed as Marvin the Martian, with my OD UK Original being the kilt.
