    If memory serves, that's how I was instructed to use it by several Southern members of the forum. But even when memory does serve, it doesn't always get the orders right. . . so I'll take all the blame if I got it wrong.

    There is a general rule of thumb:
    you = 1
    y'all = 2-4
    all y'all = 5+

    Though I admit to mostly only using "all y'all" when it is directly preceded by the F-word.

    I remember that the forum rules were amended to create a standardized spelling for all y'all's drawls. However, since people are impawsible to please, that claws in the laws was retracted.
