I love my German style beers. Cannot stand most IPAs.
Go to the local beer fest every year. We have a local brewery that is outstanding and make an award winning (three years in a row) beer called Dirty Hippy. It is a medium dark ale that has a top of nut with a smooth finish at the back.

Outside of my homebrew I would have to say Shiner (Texas) Wild Hare and Dog Fish Head 60 minute IPA (Delaware). There are many more from local craft brewers but these always work.

Interesting review, would give it a try if I see it locally. Odd, though, considering IPA is by definition a "pale ale"! One of those "jumbo shrimp" products.

Don't know if you could that one, but you might find another locally made. Jumbo shrimp, he he he.... Life is full of those contradictions...

But that is another thread all to itself...

Not at all. There are many fine light-colored ales. Ales are top-fermented, dark brews usually use dark-toasted malt. Two entirely different factors.
