Hahaha! That would be my guess. A very handsome buckle, I might add. Perfect for a waist belt with a doublet.

Not I! Though I was watching it, sure enough. It got too pricey for me.
What I find interesting is that two lovely vintage crossbelts, with the classic thistle hardware, are being bid up now fairly high, when I got an identical one on Ebay a month or two ago quite cheaply... no other bidders at all. The hardware on these old belts is much nicer than currently made hardware in that pattern.
Here's the set I got recently, on the right (probably from the 30's or so) with a modern chromeplated set on the left. I took the hardware off the old crossbelt and remounted them on a new one

This is the last buckle I picked up on Ebay, just a couple weeks ago, along with the cantle I got on Ebay a couple years ago, both probably from the 1930s or so...

It's a cool thing about being a piper, I have an excuse to acquire and wear various vintage sporrans and buckles.

not so much a stalker as a grazer every once in a while.
picked up a nice ram horn cromach, a couple nice ball top spiral canes. A lot of nice pins and broaches for kilt pins and plaid broaches, cuff links, lapel pins. Best deals I ever got were on a couple of nearly new fox full mask sporrans, one in arctic white fox and the other grey fox. Almost too nice to wear.
I too have picked up various tartan sections, one made to order kilt (bobolicious), a few other midlevel sporrans for dress or semidress use, a couple nice balmorals (Mackies and Glengarry hats). A nice section of fabric I use as a laird's plaid. Couple nice pair of hose.

I'd say that's quite the kit you've picked up on eBay, Jeffrey!
