    Well, friends,
I don't care to offend the purists but I discovered a fine pair of McLean tartan wool trousers (made by Pendelton) in a vintage clothing shop - which fit, albeit a bit long, my carcass and I'm wearing them to a Burns Dinner.

Traditional Trews wouldn't fit as well (my figure resembles a haggis more than any of the lads in pictures posted to the thread) but I'm too old to care. Mind, I still get compliments from the ladies when I wear kilt or great kilt.

With a Harris Jacket, I don't think I'll be dishonoring Burns. He was a Lowlander, after all. It'll be interesting to see how this is received.

I just picked up a pair of ex military trews in Douglas tartan (Cameronian/Scottish Rifles). I dropped the leg hem and tried them out with my regulation doublet and waistcoat a week ago....
