I was saddened to hear of your loss. Will keep you in prayers. Many years of healing and counseling work, and the loss of both parents, have taught me that you are never as prepared as you feel you are. I will say that however you find yourself feeling about this, that's the way you should feel. It will vary, and change over time. We never lose those we love, we find our connection changing in nature. Celtic genetics provides many with a continuing closeness, often greater over time. You are not alone.

Loosing my own Father, who was also my best friend and the most noble man I have ever encountered, was one of the most difficult days of my life. I found, over time that his life, his lessons, his laughter, his example, his spirit and his love never died and that he is as alive today as ever he was. The secret is to keep him alive in your heart and remember him every day.
It will take time for this pain of immediate loss to heal, but heal it will.
I wish you peace in this transitional time.
