Just picked up Thompson's book from The Scottish Lion for about $15. They just got a shipment of them in late December. Try their website...think its the obvious www.scottishlion.com
Also ordered a kilt wearing book from the tartan museum in North Carolina...still waiting for it and forget the title..bought some tshirts too...they said they shipped it out last week, but not here yet...its snowing back east and I live in the boonies so mail is slow. Think that book was about $18 Check their website and online store www.scotishtartans.org
No clue about the Amazon price insanity...been that way for months...can't be true.

Ron,
I don't know your last name, but if it's McDonald, then I think the kilt book you ordered was All About Your Kilt which I have been reccomending elsewhere in this forum.
(Then again, maybe not -- I'm at home, not in the office, and it is 6:30 AM, after all... )
In any case, we did ship that out several days ago it seems. If it doesn't show up soon let me know and I'll track it for you.
Aye,
Matt

Thanks Matt,
See the connection now. Thanks for all you do at the museum...
The McDonald's often be Irish,
The MacDonald's often be Highland Scot.
The Macdonald's often be Island Scot and Canadian.
My family and clan is the later. My grandfather ALWAYS harped on it. I don't worry much except in official things.
Funny people who would never spell a man's name as SiTh for Smith or ToMpson for Thompson will rush to spell Macdonald as McDonald...damn, I do hate that frigging clown...
In any case, looking for my plunder soon and a good book to read while waiting for the weather to warm up enough to wear the t-shirts with my contemporary kilts.

Hamish, should you ever decide to give it a try, I would be quite interested in helping you with it, as a co-author, if you like. I have thought about doing such a book myself -- there is a need. You make a good point that the Thompson book is for N. Americans -- I think an update should cover both Scottish and N. Amer. conventions, with a discussion of the differences. No one has asked me to write such a book... but I am a published author so I have a little experience in putting down words, at any rate!

Hi David! Nice to see you here! I just found this site yesterday and already have discovered I have two chums who are members -- you and Matt Newsome. I've been reading the posts for hours -- such fun and so interesting to get everyone's point of view on a topic close to my heart!
Aye,
Cyndi

Thanks very much, Dana. I am not an expert, but a very interested bystander, at least! And definitely female. This board is super -- glad I found you!
Cheers, Cyndi
