At the moment, embarking on a quite pleasurable re-read of C.S. Forester's "Horatio Hornblower" books. All 11 of them. My wife caught me at it, and so I'm reading them aloud for a couple of hours every evening. We're well into the fourth book now -- the series I have is organized chronologically to the main character's life, not in the order in which the books were written. Going through a classic reading aloud to someone who pays very close attention is a wonderful experience.

Thank you for that reminder, Charles. My family call years ago was for '1000 Nights and One night', but they wouldn't put up with the delays and the tales were told in just half a year.
My March to mid-April reads: 'The Curve of Time' by M. Wylie Blanchet, a superb biography of a woman and her five children cruising the often dangerous waters of BC's west coast over 15 summers in the 1920s and 1930s; 'H is for Hawk' by Helen Macdonald, pretty appropriate for me ; 'The Offshore Islanders, a History of the English People' by Paul Johnson, a powerful record of the British Isles so mind-set separate from the European continent; 'Not my Father's Son' the innocently written but lovely story of Alan Cumming's unacceptable growing-up years with his (not) father; 'A Darker Domain' by Val McDermid; 'The Hangman's Song' by James Oswald. Both well-written Scottish-based escape literature.
Has anybody read Ian Rankin's latest? Or Peter May's?

"The Highly Sensitive Person" by Elaine N. Aron, PHD.
I'm not overly keen on it, but will finish reading it soon enough.

Just finished Pope Francis' The Name of God is Mercy which utterly supported my own theology and now I've cracked the cover of a very old favourite to re-read for the umpteenth time, Stephen Leacock's Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town - something I absolutely and enthusiastically recommend to anyone who enjoys ironic humour and character development.

Current reading
"Finding Truth" by Nancy Pearcey is what I am finishing. I am about to start "A History of Wales" by John Davies that I received as a birthday present earlier this week.
