    a thread worth resurrecting! as I sit here enjoying a Bowmore, the supply of Laphroaig seems to have dried up, Ardbeg is impossible to get. Good single malts are hard to buy here.

    Hmm, Is it harder to import whisky into Tasmania? I haven't had any trouble finding Laphroaig or Ardbeg here in New York. In fact, I recently tried Laphroaig quarter cask at a highland games and asked my local "package store" if they could order me a bottle. He had it in his shop within a week and liked it so much he decided to keep it in stock full time. If you haven't tried Laphroaig quarter cask, and can get ahold of a bottle, I highly recommend it.
