With enough hair spray it could be a helmet.

Good post Randy,
I don't wear hats a lot, but I do wear them...for sun, foul weather, or a "look."
Wear wide brim hats for hiking or sun protection, boonie hats for hiking, baseball caps for knocking around, Irish type hats..guess their skullys (?), even Greek Fisherman's hats with my kilts. Wore my father's War II Army Air Corps cap for last year's Veteran's Day parade.
Don't have any bonnets or berets or caps with names I can't spell.

I have a balmoral and a glengarry. My hair is in a transition phase so right now no hats. Hy hair would stick out like a couple of marshmellows!

Well- I'm a hat person at heart. Collect old ones from thrift shops, vintage stores, antique stores.
lets see what i've got...
-light brown morfelt fedora
-brown beaver dobbs fedora
-dark grey beaver resistol fedora
-light grey beaver resistol open road cowboy hat
-straw stetson fedora
-black stetson derby
- new straw porkpie
- vintage boater
-light grey beaver champ fedora
-new crushable fedora
-leather cap
-irish cap
-glengarry on the way!
most of these are really nice hats, but since I get them where I do, they're 10 bucks instead of 150-200.
That sound like enough hats to you? My closet almost doesn't shut anymore.
The stingy brim morfelt fedora looks good with the kilt, things with wider brims-not so much

I have boxes of hats that I haven't opened in years, maybe I might have something else that I could add to the wardrobe that I have forgotten about. With my Tweed jackets I wear a Deerstalker if the weather permits and I think as far as the hats that go with Scottish Attire I like the Deerstalker best as it is the most comfortable.

does the deerstalker hat come with an extra large magnifying glass?

Funny thing... I have seen, maybe, half a dozen cowboy hats outside of concerts since I moved to East Tennesee (50 miles from Dollywood) 19 years ago. I saw many more growing up in Houston.

I have a tendency to wear a hat a lot like this when I'm out in the sun for any extended period of time. I took the chin strap off, though. It's what I'll probably be wearing on Saturday in Gatlinburg. Other than that, I'm a hardcore baseball cap wearer. I probably have 100. There are 2 just sitting here on the desk right now.
