Kilts in Battle: some of 51 (Highland) Div were evacuated from St Valery. And Highland officers (I don't know about ORs) wore the kilt in North Africa instead of the (long) issue shorts - maybe also in India - during WW2: would this count?

St Margaret: I don't think that there are many west of the Druim Albann who would consider the Saxon sister of Edward the Atheling saintly for being canonised for her extermination of the Ceile De (Culdees).

Montrose: there seem to be a lot of dates missing for the Great Montrose and his battles, and some of his contemporaries like the poet William Drummond of Hawthornden - also James Hogg; and the figures of the Scottish Enlightenment.

I'll dig out some dates tomorrow, or later on rather (it's 3 am on Friday).

What with all the recent discussion of Scots comedians, who we're missing is:

November 6 -- Chic Murray, comic genius, born Charles Thomas McKinnon Murray in Greenock (1919)
"It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to have to paint it."
