So sad Graham,
This adventure started out six months ago as you said. I really don't think it has much to do with the "move." All this could have been handled well many months prior to the move.
Wish they'd give you back your money....AND the kilt that fits....that's the sad part...if you'd had a kilt that fit think you'd have really liked them...

I love how the folks on the UK board are so blinded and think UK is the end all and be all. Not one sympathetic ear, or a second thought that this counldn't possibly be UK's fault/problem.

well, you need to recognize that the UK board is getting their info second hand, not from the person who was having problems with UK. as far as we know, over on the other board, Graham has only attempted to contact Uk through a few e-mails and maybe a couple phone calls, all of which has been fruitless. I have called and e-mailed UK HQ MANY times over the last few months and have had no problems..
Has anyone thought that maybe his replacement kilt got lost by the post office/UPS on its way from Seattle to Tasmania?

I think thats kinda the point ,right? He hasn't even been able to find out if it was shipped. If they could just say its been shipped then he could move onto tracking it down.

I've been away for a few days, and I'm happy to report that finally I have had an email from UK telling me that they will refund my money.
It would have been nice to give UK a fair try, it seems that is not to be.
I put it all down to experience and that makes us all richer.

When I was buying my first UK at a pride festival the guys kept trying to get me to buy ones that were WAY too big. One even commented that it would be good when I gain more weight. I don't like buying anything under the assumption that I'm going to gain waight, but it's also not a good idea to guy something assuming that you'll lose weight. Much better to get what fits you right now!

Funny, the exact same thing with the size happened to me.
I oredered on at the Savanah games a couple years ago. They didn't have what I wanted (original in night camo) in stock but they took my measurements and money, etc.
I did get it in the mail about a week after it was supposed to come and it was way too big. I called and spoke to Otto, he just happened to have a night camo in the size I guessed would be correct.
I shipped it back the next day but it still took about three more weeks to get the relpacement.
Now the replacement did fit properly, however I was disappointed with the workmanship. The snaps were misaligned and one on the pocket popped off all together. I decided not to sent it back though.
The kilt is wearable and I've certainly got a good bit of use out of it. I might even consider another one someday but it will be at an event where I can try it on myself.
Anyway - I did have better customer service than what you described Graham, sorry to hear your experience was so poor. I like my utilikilt overall but the expression "buyer beware" does come to mind.

no worries Chris, to be honest, I did have second thoughts right after I placed the order, it was an impulse thing. I think I've been around kilts just long enough now to know where I can get reliable service and a kilt that fits well.
I'm hanging out for the new kilts from Rocky and Robert.

It also gives you an incentive not to GAIN any weight. Especially if you're talking about a $250-$500+ garment.
