Isle of Skye kilt and a grey sweater. I was with Kelly's parents and their friends, all of whom were ALSO kilted (as a pleasant surprise). Her parents friends had on an American Heritage Casual (him) and an American Heritage Mini (her). Kelly's Dad had on his new Navy Semi Trad and her Mom had on her new MacPherson Hntg Mini.

I attended a dinner/dance in black tie......my formal Prince Charlie ensemble, MacDougal tartan, piper hose, flashes, ghillies, etc. I was not the only kilted one there and we both had to pose for hundreds of pictures with all the ladies. It's amazing how those seemingly polite ladies were emboldend as the night wore on and the alcohol flowed. Every time I passed a table, I could feel my kilt being touched or lifted. I was dancing that night so I did not go regimental, but I'm sorry I didn't because one boozed up woman lifted it up to my eyeballs! I can only imagine what would happen to a man who sat there and lifted every dress or skirt that walked by. He would have brought in the new year in jail! I don't mind a little ribbing, but when they do that it really annoys me......I'm too much of a gentleman to delight in that kind of foolishness. It's a violation of my personal space and I don't appreciate it. Aside from that and the emotional melt-down I experienced at midnight (missing my beloved late wife ), I still managed to have a nice time.

I was asleep. Had driven down to Salem, Oregon on the 30th, visited with my father, who's helping out with the disaster relief down there, then did some more things on the 31st... Had a fairly large dinner @ an Outback steakhouse location down there, and zonked out at about 10:45 pm. Parents did the same. At least, during the whole trip, I did not wear one pair of trousers. Wore the Armstrong kilt the whole time...

SWK Black Watch thrifty in the house at the computer catching up on correspondence and posting bills. Long sleeved olive T, white hose scrunched down over low quarter boots. My basic around the neighborhood outfit. (A fellow kiltie refers to our outfits as the Uniforms as we use the same kilt, similar T's and scrunched down hose while out shoveling the snow, or chopping ice. The temp here today is a big fat zero, still we are kilted. Our neighbors who hale from significantly warmer climes think we are a bit soft. No party, just late night yard and sidewalk duty.
