I am a poet and songwriter...however, I take on all sorts of odd jobs and the occasional part-time job in order to support my fledgling career (I had no choice in becoming a poet or a songwriter, it kind of chose me. So I follow my Muse wherever it takes me). But, it helps a lot that I also happen to be a "jack of all trades."

I was a nurse the last time this meme went around. Perhaps surprisingly, I'm still a nurse. Currently, I work in a family clinic.

Is your family large enough or sick enough for it to have its own clinic. My family only qualifies for a couple of rooms at the local mental heath clinic.

I am a consultant surgeon, specialising in keyhole surgery and....., sorry that's a lie. How can I hide the fact that I do a bit of gun running, money laundering, extortion. . ...
Oh behave, I was just trying to be as interesting as you guys. Spent 28 years in the hotel business, set up a cellphone shop for 4 years, went bust now work in a photo lab for a well known high street retailer. See, honesty is the best policy. Forgot to mention I used to sell smokeless fuel to Indians who weren't talking to each other!

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or as "we in sewage" call it Turd Herder.
It's not very pretty but it pays well (it better). That's why I don't wear my tank to work; Thriftys go right in the washing machine. Another huge benefit is no one ever comes to visit or bothers me!
I'm also a musician, I used to do it full time but after my kids were born I came off the road and now do it nights and weekends. I do historic American popular music on original instruments, mostly early 19th C.
