They look great! Enjoy them, and I hope you get to wear them often!

Very smart looking. Where did you get them?

Thank you! Highland Dance Supplies (www.highlanddancesupplies.com). Gail actually went and found the pattern used by the Liverpool Scottish, who used the Forbes Tartan, for their hose 80-90 years ago.
So, I am really happy with the hose.
Alan, they are expensive because they are made to measure and to match the tartan in question.

Well, I hope you feel it was worth the expense, because I think you look absolutely fantastic.
Great picture, great outfit, and you wear it well sir.

Very sharp your Grace (you are a Duke aren't you?). I know there has been a lot of discussion about what hose to wear but I go back to the days before anyone wore white hose and I think you made the right decision. Anything else would have taken away from the overall appearance. You said you were in the legal profession once I, believe so you should know where to get collarless shirts as they are about the only ones who still wear them. It is just I notice some bare flesh around your jabot. If you have a problem I know Stuart Christie here in Edinburgh stock them and I am sure they would post to you. Finally, seeing I am in a picky mood, Kirkcaldy has a K in it, a common mistake even here in Scotland is to spell it without.

Duke of Kircaldy as in the Beatles Song "Cry, Baby, Cry". Fantasy title, fantasy place. It sounds Scottish. Besides, if I ever get enough money to buy loads of land in the Adirondacks, Maine, wherever to build my Eilean Donan copy, I will call it "Kircaldy".
I do have the barrister's shirts, but they all have french cuffs which doesn't work with the matching cuffs. I also have a shirt with attached jabot and cuffs. The other option is a cotton t-neck shirt.
But, it is rather warm to have worn all that.

Was that not "Duchess of Kirkcaldy"? Kirkcaldy is the linoleum capital of Britain (or used to be) but I'm not sure I would want to name anywhere after it. I take it you have never been there yourself then as it is not a place where kilt-wearers are normally encountered - shell suits, Burberry baseball caps and hoodie tops worn to exercise the family pit-bull terrier being the more usual attire among the inhabitants of the predominantly social housing there.
