Many people in the US associate kilts with the St. Patrick's Day parade which is where most of the them see actual kilts being worn other than in the movies.

At a fair on the Italian Riviera just 2 days ago, someone asked me why I was wearing a kilt in such a place. I answered it was probably to match with the mist in the background !

Completely OT, but that is a great pic!

Someone asked me if I worked at walmart. I was wearing a red shirt and black kilt. I was also clearly shopping.

I also enjoy "that doesn't have a zipper? How do you pee?"

5 minutes into a conversation: "Are you an exchange student?" (apparently the total lack of an accent wasn't a clue)

The second time I wear a kilt around people I know I inevitably get "You wore that again?" as if I was just going to burn it after one use.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

That tartan is eerily similar to Walgreens' tartan.
(Though CVS has a prominent white stripe.....)

I've gotten to the point that when I'm not wearing a kilt, a lot of people ask me: "What's wrong? Where's the kilt?"

It's also fun when people tell me that I look funny wearing pants. I'm sure a bunch of you guys get that one a lot, too.
