Born in County Kildare, but am a Genuine American Mongrel, as both of my parents were born in the U.S., as I was planned to be. Like my cousin before me, I have some Scot blood by way of County Antrim and County Down. (same clan) I have old Yankee Stock, German, Dutch, Norwegian, French, and others. I have no native American at all. Wearing the kilt all of my life, but now almost full time.

Another American mutt here. Ancestors (from west to east) Cherokee, Welsh, English, Scottish, Norman and German. With the exception of a line that immigrated close to 100 years ago most all of them have been in country since the time of the revolution or in many cases before. I wear the kilt to honour my Scottish lines from both sides of the family. More importantly I wear the kilt for me.

My natural father is Scottish, although his Mother's family (my grandparents) were probably Irish Glasweigians with the names Donnelly and McGinty.
My natural Mother is Anglo Welsh. I inherited my red hair from her and her (English) Father. His surname was Payne, which comes from a corruption of Pagan, the nickname given to Celts! So Scottish, Irish, Welsh and Celtic English. What a combination!
However I was adopted by an Anglo Scottish couple, and my Mother's entire family came down to England from Scotland with her. Thanks to this I grew up in a household of five adults, four of whom were Scots, and their influence plus my Birth Father's genes have made me feel very Scottish, hence the kilt wearing.
The Kilt is my delight !

I was born, raised and educated in Scotland but have lived in England for 50 years.

Both my parents and all four of my grandparents were Scots born and bred.

I'm 1/2 German and 1/2 everything else as i like to say but if I'm right i believe the black watch tartan is a universal tartan that anyone can wear regardless of Scottish roots

Well, some how the genetic lottery was nice to me. I'm almost exactly 1/3 Scot, Irish and Prussian. (I know that Prussia is no longer a country, but it was at the time when my ancestors left.) I side that I most identify with is my Scot, but I wear kilts because they are comfortable, fun, and I just like them.

Oh yea. Welcome to the Rabble!!!!
