Bad news. I am rather ill today. Really bad timing, and I am very upset that I will miss tonight. I will avoid the Chinese take-out down the road from now on...

New Dallas guy here will be very interested in a Kilt Night. I'm picking my first one up TONIGHT. Have a company Christmas party next Saturday, and gotta dress to impress.
Will look forward to meeting a bunch of you folks.
Thanks

BigKen: I've only been to one other kilt night, but I had a blast and suspect tonight's get together will be just as fun, too. Some great people in the area!
Looking forward to meeting you at a future kilt night, and a kilt at a company Christmas party is the way to go!
Christopher

Response to Mr. Weir about the traditional ribbon-style flashes which we discussed tonight: mine are 37" long, including the fringe. Since they're knitted, they stretch a couple of inches. They go around my calf twice, and hang down a couple of inches below the turn-down on the hose cuff. If you get grosgrain ribbon from a fabric store, you probably should plan for
length = (circumference of the calf * 2)
+ (hose turn-down * 2)
+ (some to show below the hose turn-down * 2)
+ a little for the knot if you tie them. Very best wishes to you and your fiance!!

I just wanted to post a quick note to thank everyone for coming to the Wednesday kilt night! It was short notice, but we had a very nice group! We're hoping to be able to get more kilt nights rolling again after the holidays. Shake things up a bit with some variety, perhaps, so everybody has a chance for some fun here and there. I know I probably won't be able to make every kilt night, but it would be fun to see you all a little more often
Christopher and I did get some photos on our camera, but since I was a little frazzled and not thinking straight, we didn't get tons (thanks for picking the camera up to get some shots, Rowdy!). We only had a small handful of kilts/kilted skirts, too. When we get a chance, I'm sure we'll share those in the pics section of the board.
Thanks again, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I did just learn of an Irish place in Frisco, named 'Lochranns'........ Might be an option.

I've been there once, but it was to see a friends' band play during St Patrick's festivities, so it was outside. I don't think I really got to see the inside of Lochrann's. I think there may have been a kilt night there (or a few, I'm not sure), so who knows! I'm sure it could be a possibility along with many other places all over the D/FW area
We're hoping to try to get things rolling for kilt nights after the holidays, so we'll see!
