A frosty, delicious bottle of Blue Moon is no more! I must fetch another!
'A damned ill-conditioned sort of an ape. It had a can of ale at every pot-house on the road, and is reeling drunk. "

To the Ladies and Gentlemen of X Marks.
I lift my coffee cup to honor, not myself, but to honor all of you.
I honor those who have made this place we call "our family, our Clan" with your posts, your wisdom, and your wit, the wonderful place that it is today.
Your outpouring of well wishes is humbling.
I will do my utmost to earn those wishes.
I also wish to thank Hank for his vision and his leadership over the past years.
It will be less than a month when I can shake his hand and thank him in person.
But tonight is about you. The members of this forum. Who are the true reason that this little part of the web has become the greatest resource in the world for information and sharing about this thing we call The Kilt.
Thank you.

I decided to toast with a tea, and some shortbread afterward. With this little grace by Robert Burns:
Grace Before and After Meat
O Lord, when hunger pinches sore,
Do thou stand us in stead,
And send us, from thy bounteous store,
A tup or wether head! Amen.
O Lord, since we have feasted thus,
Which we so little merit,
Let Meg now take away the flesh,
And Jock bring in the spirit! Amen.
So Jock, where's the spirit?
Seriously though here's to all the members that make the forum what it is from Owners past and present, all mods old new and current, and especially to the membership who make this the best forum on the net.
Slainte.

I was at an academic reception at the appointed hour, but I ended up talking to a colleague about kilts and sporrans and XMarks, and singing the praises not just of past and present owners but of all of you, all too publicly. The next such reception I'll have to be kilted. It's now expected.

I joined in with a glass of Tullamore.
