I got the SNP tartan and there's a surcharge on it as it's made specially by DC Dalgelish. Slanj also stated that when they sell the tartan they only feel right that they make a financial contribution towards the party, so I don't know how much that will be - but as I work for them I could always find out

It was £345 in total. I got their last piece of material, otherwise it would have been a 12-16 week wait! And there's 9 yards left so I may well get a 9 yard kilt I suppose!
The maker told me I'm the first person in hundreds to have it pleated to the yellow stripe, which could perhaps who me to be a little creative (although I'm sure someone may take influence!)

Here's the late Bashir Ahmad MSP in a kilt of the tartan:

It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Thats not too bad I might have to try and brave the eedjit in the shop and see what theyre saying. I do like the tartan which is on my ever growing list of kilts I would like in the future

I already owned three kilts off the scratch'n'dent rack from UK before purchasing my fourth, an expensive leather kilt from UK. My totals for Utilikilts went over $1300. Should've nipped the need at that point. But, SWK had a coupla good ones for sale that I "had" to have along with my need for a Sportkilt. Now I've put over $1900 into ownership of 9 kilts of varying qualities and the most costly, the black leather Utilikilt @over $700 (incl tax)
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

Great, aslong as you like them I'm sure they're worth it!
I've went from 0-6kilts in 9 months. I never really expected to have this many but theres simply a hell of a lot of tartans that I love!

i paid £179 out of hector russells in glasgow for my kilt mainly due to the fact they had a sale on, i think the usual average price was about £220` for a kilt from the marton mills range ,if i had extra cash id be happy to pay what ever the going rate is for the Chisholm weathered tartan but chances are id have to get the tartan spun on order as its not a tartan you can just walk in and buy straight off the shelf so to speak

US$400 is the most I have paid so far; I don't have enough faith in my own constancy (or in my government's ability to restrain inflation) to predict the most I will ever pay for my then heart's desire.

my five hand sewn traditional kilts have ranged from $525-$600 depending on the rarity of the tartan. For a hand sewn custom made garment that will last many, many, years, I feel the up front investment is worth it.
