Cheers gents,
I find it hard to believe that a sworn law enforcement officer would be so self rightous as to brag that he is violating a law for which there is a $25,000 fine. I am also surprised that other members of the forum support such overt lawlessness. The "eagle feather law" was created to assist in protecting an endagered species, not as a means to make your life difficult, no matter how much money you have spent.
I encourage the moderators to remove these posts that blatantly encourage and support the commission of a felony in the United States. I also suggest that someone copy this post and forward it to the US Fish and Wildlife Service so that it might be used as the basis for a search warrant.

A cop who thinks he's above the law, how unusual!!

I know! I am certain that the Missouri State Police Internal Affairs folks will be thrilled to read this also.

Why don't you just mind your own business? Do we really need your input on this Forum? We are all friends here; no need to get so testy.

I am!
I am not the person who openly invited arrest for committing a federal crime, after bragging about being a law enforcement officer. He is certainly not providing a proper role model either as an officer of the law or as a clan leader.
His business became part of my business when he posted this challenge.

Eagle feathers
Gotta say, I'm with Gordantaos on this one. Unless someone gets a cultural exception to violate the law, it's nothing but wrong!

I think at this point we all need to calm down and keep the thread on topic lest it be closed.
If anyone is genuinely worried about someone breaking a conservation law then it's simple enough to PM them and ask them weather or not their feather is real or imitation and weather or not they got it from a legal source.'
There are members on this forum who wear Eagle Feathers which they can prove belonged to a GGG Grandfather or they have asked for and been granted an exception based on a cultural heritage reason.
We certainly would not encourage anyone to break any law, but we would encourage those accusing them to ask questions and research before calling the police.
Now, back on topic!

Response to OP
"I am a law enforcement officer-Missouri State Highway Patrol-if someone wishes to arrest me because they see me wearing one eagle feather in my balmoral, by all means, let them try! HA!"
Actually, this discussion was based upon statements and challenges issued by the OP.
I again will state emphatically that the OP invited arrest for his admitted commission of a felony. I might humbly suggest that such statements should not be encouraged or allowed by the forum

Speaking of the topic of this thread, did I miss the pictures somehow? I'd like to entreat the OP to post some here or perhaps direct me to another thread where I might find them

As has been stated by a moderator, this thread needs to go back on topic.
Take any personal issues up through the personal message function.
Only one person on this entire thread has asked the OP the provenance of his feather.
I cannot see that a single person has actually contacted the OP to find out whether or not he has, since being warned of the law, checked if he can have a cultural exemption or applied for such.
I took it upon myself to read the entirety of 'The Eagle Feather Law' and to contact a friend who specialises in conservation law.
Since the OP can prove the provenance of the feather to be one legally obtained in Scotland and given as a gift he would be exempt from any prosecution.
Should any member on here be sufficiently worried then they have every right to privately contact the police and take it up with them, but daring each other on the open forum while not taking action yourself is not the sensible, adult or legal way to go about it.
If this thread continues on this subject it will be closed.
