In my previous post on this thread I said that I had been very fortunate this year and did not have a wish list. Now Matt comes out with the newest offering from STM and guess what. I now have a wish list, doesn't take long

Lets see
Tweed kilt jacket something along the lines of day wear that could pull off an evening event with a quick change of buttons.
Matching vestdoesn't have to be matching in color but something that compliments the jacket
Pocket Watch prefer some vintage piece hand wound perhaps
Full Mask Sporran something different an animal not usually seen
Sgian Dubh with a Demascus blade black polished handle and a smooth river stone in place of the tacky glass/plastic stones you normaly see.
Glengarry solid black maybe in leather.
Kilt Hose thick wool with and even thicker cuff.
Bonnie Lass to go on me arm.
I can come up with more but as I am still young at the kilt game this is what I am currently looking to find.

If you are looking for a jacket that could do both day and evening, you would probably be better served by black barathea than tweed. A black Argyll is generally considered to be the most versatile kilt jacket.
As for the vest, why not get it as a set with the jacket? I think that's one area of Highland dress where matching is perfectly appropriate

Here's a pic of a possible candidate: Pteropus rufus, the Madagascar Flying Fox:

An interesting choice, Dale.
Would you wear that one upside down?

No, I think people watching me put things in or take them out would find it too. . .disturbing.

Bugbear, I’m all for indigenous symbolism.
This is why several of my tartan designs feature South African plants or animals.
I have seen some absolutely beautiful Scottish thistle belt buckle designs which I would be proud to own, but something inside me says I should look for a protea, a strelitzia, a springbok, a blue crane or a secretary bird (to name a few possibilities).
Dale – too right. An upside-down full mask sporran, even made of a bat, would be very disturbing.
And since it’s an endangered species, we probably won’t see any such sporrans.
Regards,
Mike

The main thing on my wish list is a pair of tartan kilt hose to match my Buchanan kilt but they're awfully expensive. By the time I've saved that anount of money I'm well on the way to a new kilt!
The Kilt is my delight !
