I was straightening up a corner of the wardrobe and found this one that my cousin had given me for my 40th birthday. But that was 11 years ago.

A new pin just arrived in today's post. While not exactly a kilt pin, a couple of well placed blanket pins, allow this to function as such.
For those that are wondering, this is a WWI issue cap badge for the Canadian Machine Gun Corps. My grandfather McQueen ('pappy' to us kids ) was part of a machine gun squad from the 105th Regiment, Saskatoon Fusiliers. So this will help keep him spiritually with me.

I use a reproduction embroidered Army officer's hat badge (Civil War period), customized with my own regimental number, on my US Army tartan:
Also picked up a nice, antique grouse-claw pin on ebay some years back (have to repair the pin on this one):

You're right WPT, it is jewellery mostly, although it does have a practical purpose. (clickety click)

Oh yes, practical. That's men. Trust me, I don't wear jewellery to draw attention to myself. Clickety click. (;

I well remember the apt and poignant words on the Machine Gun Corps memorial(also known as "Boy David"):-
"Saul has slain his thousands, but David his tens of thousands."
" Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the adherence of idle minds and minor tyrants". Field Marshal Lord Slim.

This was picked up off Fleabay and is shown on my Co Mayo 16oz 8 yds kilt.
This was also picked up on Fleabay for £3.00 and when cleaned was found to be solid silver, shown here on my Russell (Modern) Family Tartan 16oz 8yds kilt.

Wow. I'm really jealous of all those amazing pins! I have a couple of "standard" sword motif pins... pretty generic stuff. The one pin I have that stands out is this one...
925 sterling silver coyote pin on Ferguson Ancient (13oz 5yd), cost about 25$. Spent a few weeks searching for it online, but don't remember where it was that I found it. It was a shoppe that specialised in Native American jewelry.
