I'm afraid I have my immigration interview first thing in the morning, and as such will be in smart Saxon attire.
That said, I'll Kilt up as soon as I go home since I'll be donating blood later in the day.

All in all, just another good reason to wear a Kilt. With the temps averaging 95 - 100F and humidity raising the apparent temp up another 10-15 degrees, I'm thinking a PV versus the tank. My PV's are U.S. Navy (Edzell) and National Fallen Firefighter Foundation and the tank is Black Watch. Have little to do and all day to do it.

The ones of us who are interested usually find out all we can about our ancestors and their areas of origin, and if those areas have exciting histories, so much the better.
Now then, those who are interested in all this stuff are by far the minority of the population, as far as I know. I would say that most Americans could not give the names of their great-grandparents, and many, especially younger folks, do not know what occupations their grandparents held. Please don't assume that all of us are history-crazy and can rattle off names and dates of people and happenings in your country. I would guess that, as you've told us several times about your neighbor Scots, the vast majority of Americans don't care or don't know about history, either their own or the country's. Most are more concerned with their job (either keeping it or finding one), paying their bills, raising their children and so forth. It just so happens that the folks who frequent Fora such as this are that minority who are interested, so it may come across as if the whole nation knows more about your country than you do. 'Tain't so, amigo. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
That's so true! I can't tell you how many times I've sat in a history- be art appreciation, American history, Western civilizations or any others- and have heard people whine "What do I have to learn this for? How is it ever going to help me in X/Y/Z field?" I try to explain that the point is to expand their minds and world views, and they look at me like I just grew a second head... They just can't wrap their minds around the idea of learning for the sake of knowing!
And Arlen- best of luck, cousin!! I'll be thinking about you tomorrow when I'm at work.

It is in the mid 90's here in Indiana. I will be kilted 8/1/11 when I go to the RV dealer to get some parts for my trailer and the better half will be with me. Maybe do other shopping as well. I normaly wear a kilt daily anyway.

I normally wear an Amerikilt to work. It's gonna be high 90's here tomorrow. I think my Sport Kilt is in order... It also has the benefit of being tartan.
