Poll: How often do you see kilts worn?

Lived in Columbia Mo since 1989. Other than myself since June of this year only one other large gentleman, I think he is a bouncer, who had a Utilikilt on. I'm hoping there will be a Burns night at the local brewery/pub and a few more might chance appearing. I know Ill put my tank on for that night.

With all those exceptions, i would like to draw your attention to my location and let you make your own conclusion!

In the entire time I have lived here, without the noted exceptions, only at a roller derby event did I see a guy in a kilt. It just so happens he was the coach so I saw him kilted at each derby bout I attended. Otherwise, just the mirror and a kilt night a couple weeks ago with fellow XMarker gordontaos, when he was in town.

Zero in the Dayton area. I have heard reports from others of kilts sightings in this area so I know I am not the only one. In 2010 I spotted a grand total of three in the wild. Two of which were spotted on the same weekend and were unrelated to each other. This was not on a Celtic Fest weekend so it really was "in the wild". It is not uncommon to see a kilt at the Dublin Pub downtown when they have a band playing but I don't get down there very often.

How singular we are! It's interesting to hear how many others from all over the country/world had the answer of 5 or less. That, I'm afraid is my answer as well.
I can recall only three "sightings" in the past 5 years! Ironically, one of them was in my apartment building. I was getting on the elevator one evening and looked up to see a gent in what looked like a utilikilt and presumably his lady, on their way to a contradance I was to find out. As we were all rushing in different directions I didn't get a chance to exchange any more info unfortunately. I haven't seen them again since.

Does it have to be on men? Even counting pipes bands, the kilts I see are likely to be on women because the most visible pipe band in my country is the Women Police Pipes & Drums.

Other than that it's less than one a year.

OK, here's a question for all you guys that hardly ever see kilts; When you do have that all too infrequent sighting, how are you dressed?

I think we've all heard the "wish I'd worn my kilt too" or similar remarks from pants wearing strangers at one time or another.
So if you're kilted at the time of the sighting, good job! you're an enabler!
If you're not kilted, well you are just setting a bad example!

besides my self, and not counting scottish games or the monthly scottish society meetings, i have seen kilts 2 other times this year in my town. 1 utilikilt and 1 tartan kilt.
