I lost a pitched battle with the lady standing beside me, and lost decisively.
One more time Bubba, don't fight with your woman, YOU WILL LOSE, having said that they're often right

This is interesting in relation to this discussion:

esp. the quote: "what of Sir Sean’s teaming of a tartan tie with tartan kilt? According to Arnott, this is a definite no-no:"

I was told ,when I bought my kilt, that you should pick out a colour from your kilt, and get a plain tie in that colour. Tartan ties look really naff with tartan kilts.

Some fine photos Robbie. I must admit you look nothing like the picture in my mind. Of course in my mind you were wearing bright white socks and matching tartan hat, ties, and jacket...

I always find it difficult when someone says you look nothing like their mental picture of you!! Is it good or bad?
What probably threw Colin was the short stocky build, typical of the West Coast Scot, or as I prefer to put it, I'm underheight for my weight!!!

Actually Robbie you are much younger looking than I pictured (based on your own discriptions). A very distinquished looking fellow indeed.

....and they DO, Freelander. I mean to say, you just have to LOOK at them. Uggggh!
I wear my Clan tartan tie - but only with a plain coloured kilt (suit) - sort of reverse to the plain tie with a tartan kilt image!
