    I've got a pair of LL Bean Katahdin boots (good year welted) that are made by Chippewa. I haven't thought of wering them with the kilt, but they might work really nicely. Thanks for the idea.

    I have worn my old Parade boots which unfortunately have seen better days now. I think the parade boot makes a great
    addition to any kilt.

    Let me preface with my credentials - 15 years up the pole & in the hole, coax cable lineman, splicing, maintenance, etc...
    Those look like the 16" Hoffman pole climbers, which I have a pair. They came with the 'claw' sole, which wore down rather quickly - I had them resoled with the vibram. They are still around, but I have moved on to Wesco for their custom options.
    My personal opinion, in the context of pole climbing, is that there is no better boot for that price range.
