Good call, Mike. I almost always kilt up for attending the opera--far more comfortable than trews when you're seated for that long, and the compliments are practically non-stop!
Perhaps you'll be able to do the Chicago Scots Tartan Day Pub Crawl next month. I hope to participate as usual, although I may be travelling back from Arizona that day...

All of those outfits are fantastic, you look very dashing. I'm usually not a fan of diced hose, but I like those because of the more muted colors. I definitely need to get another tartan waistcoat--I use to have one in Black Watch, by Pendleton, in my pre-kilted days, but it wasn't bias-cut, which I prefer. Well-done!

Thank you both! I made the waistcoat and my wife knit the hose (as well as the bonnet).

My compliments to your wife on the wonderful hose and I tip my hat to you on the waistcoat. I can work with computers but all thumbs when it comes to these endeavors.

That is absolutely brilliant. I know it's a preference sort of thing but I can't remember seeing a better looking combination. You have a great eye to go along with your craft skills (and those of your wife, of course). Or your wife has a great eye. Regardless, well done!

In the lobby of the Clarendon Hotel this evening before heading to dinner at the Stockyards Steakhouse. Just some time apart from the family before I fly to Texas tomorrow.

What a colorful couple with great smiles! I like your kilt and kit. Enjoy your trip to Texas. Godspeed.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I wasn't kilted up on Friday, but was on Saturday night in Sinclair Hunting while out celebrating my landing two new jobs, and on Sunday in Irish National while out dog-walking with a neighbor when a woman drove up, jumped out of her car excitedly, introduced herself as a local city alderman (with an Irish Gaelic surname, no less) and asked to photograph us:
