the things you find when googling...
Did a quick Google search for Klilt images this AM
and came across this gem:
It was posted as for sale at www.benbhraggiehouse.com
Looks too much like the X Marks logo for it not to have some connection to someone here...
Woudl be a great way to identify each other - if we coudl get the X-marks tartan to work in that way....
p.s. FINALLY fighured out how to embed pics in here - YAY!!!!!
ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!

how about printing the logo in the top left corner of the XMarks website - http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/i...logo_white.gif
shrink to 3"x.71" (metric? on your own) tape to index card, fold in half, black marker your name/handle below, tuck in pocket or pin to shirt or just logo pinned to hat.
I am thinking of darkenening the blue behind the white X.
I think it solves the promise of no saltire, no damage to kilt, changes clothing easily, low cost and easy craft project for the weekend or spare 2 minutes.

Well I usually wear my X-Marks kilt pin (see pict). As for Clan X Marks, technically wouldn't House X Marks be more propper, after all not all members are Celts.

That kilt had the "X" pattern added after it was pleated, probably by screen printing.
A little "too much" for me.

well that kinda sucks!
althought to get that to appear by pleating the fabric in the right way would be an interesting challenge... if at all possible...

I recall there is a kilt that was pleated to the saltire. I don't remember who makes it but it was fairly expensive.

I went to the site that hosts the picture UmAnOnion posted. I think it's the one you're thinking of; that kilt sells for $795 - probably not screened on.
...and isn't it the same design that one of the guys on that custom motorcyle show wore when they were in scotland?

Yeah, the same design Paul Jr wore in that episode of American Chopper. The tartan is woven so it can be pleated that way. It isn't screened or printed.

I looked at one of those once. They seem quite nice and are horribly expensive. The wool is woven for that particular pattern.
What put me off was realizing that to someone unfamiliar with the saltire, it looks like you have either a giant target on your behind, or your butt is the location of buried treasure.

I understand the word clan is out, but would a clan badge be inappropriate?

Put me down for an XMarks kilt pin if another order is planned!
