It was a wonderful day and I think everyone really enjoyed their time in Carlisle.
While most of the pictures have been posted, I have a few more to add.
Here is DavidDalglish rousing the rabble to attack the gates. (And a good job he did, too!)

P1M emerged from the depths...

...And immediately took charge of the Cannons.

While I took charge of the secret weapons we found.

We encountered a kilted ghostie. (or perhaps just WalkerK)

In the military museum we found some creepy gas masks.

A Bible with a hole shot clean through it!

And a recruitment post from King Arthur's time?!

For the dancers, have you ever seen a dance card as lovely as this one used in Military balls?

Then we hied to the Cathederal.
Due to some subsidence the arches aren't quite perfect, but the very old flags from the Border regiments more than distract from it.

A bishop famed for sleeping far too often was immortalized by the masons building a new section.

We saw some 500 year old paintings which were uncovered after having been painted over in the past.

And we tried hard to spot the image of Mary in the beautiful ceiling.

This beautiful window was commissioned by a man who had lost his three daughters to scarlet fever within days of each other.
The wolf among the lambs represents scarlet fever.

After that it was straight to the pub where the Heilan' coo got stuck in!

And on the way back to the hotel I found this plaque telling how Woodrow Wilson's mother had been born in Carlisle and he visited this church where her father had been a Minister in this church.

And I discovered that P1M had some property marked out for his next guest house!

It was great to meet everyone and I am looking forward to visiting Ferintosh next weekend and getting one of those nifty pens!
