I would get what a kilt at what he likes, and you like meet. Why don't you each make a list of 5-10 tartans, and the first 3 that overlap make a choice from there.

I have to agree with Ted's first comment. If the F-H.C.A.G. like it for him there is probably a very good reason for it and wisdom would dictate that listening to her would probably be in Panache's best interest. At least I know it works that way when my fiance does stuff like this.

I voted for the Black Stewart. It's the tartan that I bought for my oldest son (I also got him a leatherneck as well).
It looks very nice, and I was having difficulty deciding between it and the Weathered McKenzie. The Weathered McKenzie won out this time.

Either way, I'm sure Panache will enjoy it, and looking smashing in it.

Thank you all very much for your replies, votes and amusement!

We ordered a Black Stewart kilt last night-ought to arrive in time to be a wedding anniversary present on September 10th.

We have also washed the Hunting Macleod and I will be basting it, pressing it and giving it either to my brother or another lucky recipient. We've decided we cannot keep it, because there is simply no room at the inn!

    Again, thank you all!

    Be well,

    Why Grant I'm flattered.

The scouts believe in honesty and courtesy.

    So do I!

    Cheers

And badges, don't forget about the badges...

It's also a wonderful tartan (my favourite of the list).

    It's arrived!

No, we certainly do not need any badgers. We've got Black Stewart!

You can see it here: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/t...x.html?t=40957
