Nice, Steve, but I still like the McMurdo MkIII.

I agree; I still prefer the Glen's MkIII. I would take one in silk as well.

One more vote for the McMurdo MkIII. I'll buy a silk tie and bowtie.

I'd follow with the McMurdo tie scheme as well. put down for a silk one if we go with a nonsilk version at some point I would get one of those as well for work.
Also I found This Company who's options include custom color combinations embroidery and orders as few as 24 ties. not sure of pricing but worth a look.
for a better pricing check out This Company min order is 50 ties again but they have great pricing $22.80 per for 50 in silk or $17.40 per for 50 in poly.

An organization I belong to recently commissioned Beau Ties of Vermont to design a sample tie for our group. I saw the sample tie a couple of weeks ago, and I was very impressed by their work.

That last company looks good, Tiny, but can they do bow ties as well?
You can count on me for at least one. I would be very tempted to get more if there was a bow tie available as well.

Not sure. I've emailed them to find out. If they can we can give them Mcmurdos example and they would submit 3 weave options for use to vote on and the vote winner could be ordered. Once they get back to me about the bow tie option I will post it here.

Isn't there more than one run of xmaks tartan?
And, are they the exact same hue of blue?
If the tie was more of a neutral (Black, Grey, White) or contrasting color (Red,Yellow, Orange) with a stripe(s) in the xmarks colors wouldn't it be less likely to fight with the Kilt. It might even coordinate with other kilts better. Unless, of course, you are wanting to make this some kind of uniform look.

Well with the second company I posted we could always send them a scrap of the tartan fabric and they would make 3 samples for us to chose from. then once we have the 3 samples we could start a thread with a vote option to pick the one we will use. they can even make a logo or crest if we wanted to add that to the tie.
